Pregnancy Diary Week 38: How Is Your Baby Growing?
At pregnancy week 38, your unborn baby has gained a significant amount of weight. Weighing about 6.8 pounds and around 19 1/2 inches long. She has a strong grip, which you’ll soon feel when you hold her hand for the first time! Her organs are developed and are prepared for life outside the womb.
Your baby has most likely lost all the fine, downy hair and defensive white vernix from their skin at this time.

What you can expect
