Pregnancy Diary Week by Week

Pregnancy Week 36 - How Is Your Baby Growing?

Your baby probably weighs around 6 pounds and each day is gaining about one ounce more. She is over 18 1/2 inches in length. In addition, her appearance is different, in that she is swallowing both the downy hair that was on her body, in addition to the wax like film that covered her for the last 9 months, known as vernix caseosa. Because she is swallowing these two substances, she is having her first bowel movement, secreting meconium, a black mixture containing other substances too.

An External Cephalic Version procedure may be recommended by your doctor if your baby is in a breech position, and the procedure involves trying to use an ultrasound scan to assist them to push the bump.

A full term baby is considered to be 37 and 42 weeks, so your baby is now a full term baby and is probably in position with her head down. Before and after 37 and 42 weeks are known as pre-term and post term, respectively.

Pregnancy Week 36 - What You Can Expect

Your midwife will need to check the position of your baby regularly, and weekly antenatal visits are probably on your calendar.

You probably have many questions and are nervous, as it becomes closer to the time to give birth. many women wonder how much pain they will feel, and how they will really know that they are in labour. The best pain relief is also something you are probably concerned with.

As you are 36 weeks pregnant, you may find that eating smaller meals more often is easier than eating full size meals at normal times, because your baby is taking up all that room.

Once your baby begins to drop into your pelvis, a process called lightening, you may find that breathing is easier and you experience less heartburn. If this is your first baby, lightening typically occurs a few weeks before you go into labour, although it probably won’t happen until you go into labour if you have had a baby before. Walking is often uncomfortable during pregnancy week 36, if you experience pressure in the lower abdomen caused by the baby dropping. You may feel pressure and discomfort around the vaginal area and may have to pee more often. It has been described by many women as carrying a bowling ball between the legs.

Onions For Pregnancy Nutrition

The following are just a few of the many onion health benefits that most people probably don’t know about:

Oral hygiene
Onions are frequently used as a means to prevent oral infections and tooth decay. All the germs found in the mouth could be eliminated entirely, by simply chewing raw onion for two to three minutes.

To treat heart problems
Onion health benefits include helping to thin the blood, which ultimately stops the red blood cells from clumping together, which would normally lead to the development of cardiovascular diseases or heart problems.

As a treatment for acne
The juice of an onion mixed with olive oil or honey, is said to get rid of acne, and leave a beautiful glowing skin behind.

Cough reliever
Drinking a mixture of equal portions of honey and onion juice does wonders to relieve coughing and sore throats.

As a treatment for insect bites and stings
Fresh onion juice or onion paste is a great pain reliever after insect bites or bee and scorpion stings.

Increased sex drive
Take a tablespoon of onion juice mixed with a spoonful of ginger three times a day, and boost your libido for a healthier, happier sex life.

Treating anaemia
Symptoms of anaemia can also be improved by simply eating raw onions together with jaggery and water.

For relieving stomach ache
The anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties contained in onions help to relieve upset stomach and gastro-related syndromes.

Urinary tract disorders
The typical burning sensation during and after urination when suffering from urinary tract disorders can be greatly relieved by consuming boiled water to which 6 to 7 grams of onion has been added.

Helps to prevent cancer
Onions contain plenty of active compounds which are able to prevent cancerous cells from developing.

As a relief for earache
Those suffering from severe earache will get tremendous relief after using a few drops of raw onion juice, and ringing in the ear can be relieved by placing the onion drops into the ear through a wad of cotton wool.

Onions have been used for treating a variety of human diseases; including colds, persistent coughs, as well as tumours, according to Peach Health, and many doctors as well, consider the humble onion an ideal home remedy for treating many medical ailments. Peace Health has added further, that consuming onions can also help tremendously, with the prevention of breast and stomach cancer.

Medical studies have shown that the sulphur-rich compounds found in onions halt biochemical chain formations, which normally lead to asthmatic problems, and also work wonders in breaking down the phlegm normally coupled with a severe cough. The juice of fresh onions, when applied to individuals who have become unconscious, is also said to bring the patient out of the state of unconsciousness, with renewed vigour and energy.
